November 2005

We noticed one of the young ladies in our Bible College struggled repeatedly with rebellion. We tried again and again to help her. She would be okay for a while, then her anger would flare up again. We finally realized we had done all we could for her without significant response, and her pastor decided to take her home. On that trip we were praying for her, and at last she opened her heart to God and to her pastor and shared for the first time the cause of all her anger. We wept when we heard of the abuse she described.
She had to be disciplined for her rebellious actions, but she agreed to submit herself to some in-depth counseling. The change was significant as she grieved and saw the reasons for her unacceptable behavior. These days she smiles more freely and is beginning to practice forgiveness. Sorry we don't feel free to mention her name, but she is hoping that someday she will be able to help girls that are suffering as she did.

Our son, Daniel, met L.M., a struggling young pastor, a few years ago. He was

quite discouraged in his work and recognized that he needed more training. L.M. enrolled in Bible College and proved to be an apt student with teaching ability. After graduation he was made an assistant teacher; he proved himself capable and was given some classes to teach on his own. At the present he is teaching Psychology of Counseling, Daniel, and Revelation. He was also appointed Dean of Students and does that job well. On Wednesday evenings he is taking the congregation of Bethel Baptist Church through a book by book study of the Bible.
Kay is a very competent school teacher and helps in the Bible College teaching in different areas and also doing the job of receptionist in the mornings before she goes to teach in the government school. Kay helps to teach in the Ladies' Bible Class on Sundays. L.M. and Kay have two children. Their oldest son died a few years ago with tuberculosis. We are so thankful for this dedicated couple who have determined to serve God together.

We love and appreciate you folks for your involvement in our ministry in Zambia. It is exciting to be partners together in bringing the gospel to folks like the ones we talked about today. May God continue to strengthen and encourage you in your faithful support and prayers.

Sincerely,
